Josh Brown - King of the Road

Here's a picture of Josh’s set up for the writing and recording of a new musical called King Of The Road. The show is in early production with a cast recording later this year and a small production early next year.

“It’s a Mapex Saturn Drumset with 10”,12” and 14” toms and a 22" bass drum. Remo Vintage Emperor heads on the toms and a Remo Ambassador on the Snare (Mapex Black Panther).

Cymbals, left to right are 10" Stagg Splash, Sabian 14” HHX Manhattan Jazz Hats, Sabian 16” HHX X-Plosion Crash, Pearl 20" Ride (older than I am but sounds killer) Sabian 16” HHX Evolution Crash and a Sabian 17" AAX Crash.

(Off to the right are) 10” and 8" bongos and they're just for when I was recording a little section of a track which I then play over on the kit. The percussionist will play them in the production but only after I've finished writing all the parts.”

Josh is a proud sponsor of Protection Racket Drum Cases and BDL Percussion Products.

And here’s Josh’s website.

Also have a listen to some clips from Josh’s company Toolshed Audio. They write wonderful compositions for TV and film.
